Samsung is releasing two variants of its flagship Galaxy series, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+. S8 is the smaller of the two siblings while S8+ is a little bigger and better in some aspects.  Samsung has officially revealed the specs and features of the phone on its official website. Now let’s take a closer look at what seems to be the best smartphone of the decade:

Both the S8 and the S8+ have an amazing design and look something from the future. They boast edge to edge screens with minimum bezels and curved sides. When it comes to the design, this phone is the bomb. Samsung is calling this design the Infinity Display. It has an incredible end-to-end screen that spills over the phone’s sides, forming a completely smooth, continuous surface with no bumps or angles. It’s pure, pristine, uninterrupted glass. And it takes up the entire front of the phone, flowing seamlessly into the aluminum shell. The result is a beautifully curved, perfectly symmetrical, singular object.

The smooth curves also allow a good grip for the phone. Another important design feature is that there is no camera bump, that we all hate so much. Instead, the camera sits flushed with the back cover which looks and feels awesome. The finger print scanner is now moved to the back which makes it more accessible and user friendly.

Both of these devices sport the new Infinity Displays as mentioned earlier. The display is equipped with Quad HD+ Super AMOLED which means its super bright and crisp. The S8 and S8+ boast a screen resolution of 2960×1440. The S8 and S8+ will also be the first Samsung phones to support 18.5:9 display rather than a 16:9 display. The screen pixel density is 570 ppi for the S8 model and 529 ppi for the S8+.

The Galaxy S8 measures 5.8’’ diagonally, 148.9 mm tall and weighs in at 155g. The Galaxy S8+ measures 6.2’’ diagonally, 159.5 mm tall and weighs in at 173g.

The camera is one of the main features people look for when buying a Samsung Galaxy phone. The front camera is 8MP and the rear camera is a whopping 12 MP with Dual Pixel Sensor. The rear camera is 4K enabled and can shoot videos with 4K quality. One other thing to note is that both cameras are adjusted for low light too so you can take amazing photos 24/7. The front facing camera also comes with Iris scanning a face recognition ability so you know that no matter what happens, your content and privacy is safe.
